This trek starts at Lamayuru site of one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh and crosses two passes of 4900 m and 4700 m offering fantastic views of the surrounding Zanskar Mountains en route to Chiling a small village nestled along the Zanskar river gorge.  From Chiling trekkers can either head back to Leh by road or more excitingly raft back via the turbulent Zanskar river.

It depends on what kind of tourism you enjoy. If given the choice between a short Fly.com flight or trek of several days, what would you choose? How about the choice between a luxurious hotel or camping? You can always try to customize a trip to your liking. Here you will experience gorgeous nature, exhilarating hiking and stunning scenery. THE LAMAYURU TO CHILLING TREK

Best Season: June- September

Difficulty: Moderate

Day 1: Drive from Leh to Lamayuru and visit monastery.

Day 2: Hike from Lamayuru to Wanla. (4 hours, highest point: Prinkiti La 3700 m)

Day 3: Hike from Wanla to Hinju. (7 hours, highest point: Hinju 3750 m)

Day 4: Hike from Hinju to Sumdha Chenmo. (7 hours, highest point: Konzke La 4900 m)

Day 5: Hike from Sumdha Chenmo to Chilling and return by vehicle to Leh.  (8-9 hours, highest point: Dudunchen La 4700 m)

Day 6: (Optional) Spend night in Chilling and 3hours white water rafting to Nimo then hot lunch with rafter and trekking crew and return to Leh by vehicle.
