Nepal and trekking are synonymous with each other. The mountain scenery is breathtaking. Weather you chose to trek in the Annapurna region or the Everest region you are sure to encounter countless jaw dropping vistas. Everest Region Gazing at the highest mountain in the world from Kala Pattar, and visiting the historic Everest Base Camp is a life long dream for many people. For high altitude Himalayan alpine vistas, few regions can match the region surrounding Mt. Everest know as the Kumbu. With the opportunity to gaze in awe at four 8000 m peaks, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lotse, and of course Mt Everest. The typical trek to Everest Base Camp takes approximately 12 to 14 days to complete starting from Lukla. For those with more time the trekking possibilities in this region are nearly limitless. In addition to the Everest Base Camp valley there are three other valleys, the Bhote Valley, Gokyo Valley, and Chukhung Valley, all offering fabulous mountain vistas. The valleys can be linked together in a grand tour of the region via three spectacular 5000 m passes. Another option to extend the trek is to follow the footsteps of the early Everest expeditions by hiking into the region, rather than flying to Lukla, via the strenuous but rewarding trail from Jiri to Namche through the middle hills, typically taking about 7 days. 21 day Nepal tour including Everest Base Camp Trek The Annapurnas The classic Annapurna Circuit or Around Annapura takes approximately 16 to 20 days to complete, reaching a maximum altitude of 5416 m over the Thorung La. The Annapurna Circuit owes its popularity its diversity both culturally and geographically. Starting and ending in the lower altitude middle hills inhabited by predominately Hindu villages where terraced rice patties cover the hillsides the trail climbs into the Buddhist region of Manang and the lower Mustang valley where barley is the staple crop and snow covered peaks dominate the valleys. For those with more time this trek can be extended with side trips to Tilicho Lake, at just under 5000 m one of the highest lakes in the world, and a trip to snow capped mountain encircled Annapurna Base Camp, know as the Annapurna Sanctuary. For those with less time on their hands the Annapura Base Camp can be visited on a shorter 7 to 9 day trek taking in the famed Himalayan panorama from Poon Hill along the way. Another shorter and less demanding trek involves flying into Jomsom and completing the second half of the Annapurna Circuit, know as the Jomsom Trek. The Jomsom Trek typically takes 7 to 9 days to complete and avoids the strenuous climb over the Thorung La. 19 day Nepal tour including Annapurna Base Camp Trek We will work with you or your group to create a customized itinerary that meets your needs and interests.
